Notre Dame High School
Hire4Ed Summary
Notre Dame High School is a co-ed, private, Catholic High School, which opened its doors to 80 new freshmen in September of 2004. In 2009, we have approximately 255 students.
What makes our model unique is an innovative Hire4Ed Program, through which every student finances the majority of the cost of his/her education. The students are not on the payroll of the employing organization, but rather are employees of our separately incorporated Hire4Ed Program.
By outsourcing full time, entry-level office jobs through this program, companies enable our students
to earn tuition while gaining valuable on-the-job experience. Job sharing teams of students fill 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. clerical positions five days per week throughout the school year. Students must complete a training program that includes workshops such as, Phone skills, Ethics, Dressing for success, Time Managment, Communications & First impressions.
We are part of the larger Cristo Rey Network of schools (www.cristoreynetwork.org), which is a national association of 22 schools that provide quality, college preparatory education to low income families, who otherwise could not afford such an opportunity.
The network is funded by a $21 million grant from the Gates Foundation and Lowell native B.J. Cassin and has been featured in media outlets, including 60 Minutes & the New York Times.
