Below are a few simple ways in which thoughtful donors can make a planned gift to Notre Dame High School, Lawrence. I. Bequests

This is the most popular planned giving option as there is no limit on the amount of an estate tax deduction and you will preserve your assets during your lifetime. You and your lawyer can discuss the following types of bequests:

Specific:

Allocate a set dollar amount to Notre Dame High School or designate a specific asset, such as securities, an antique, or a piece of property which you designate to Notre Dame High School in your will.

Sample language: “I give the sum of $__________ to Notre Dame High School, Lawrence, Massachusetts to be used for its general purposes.”

Residual:

Designate Notre Dame High School to receive all or a portion of your remaining estate after all specific bequests are made.

Sample language: “I give and devise to Notre Dame High School, Lawrence, Massachusetts ___% of the residue of all the property, of whatever kind and wherever located, that I own at the time of my death, to be used for its general purposes.”

Contingent:

Make Notre Dame High School the beneficiary, contingent on factors that you outline in your will.

Sample language: "If none of my descendants are living at the time of my death, I give and devise to Notre Dame High School, Lawrence, Massachusetts my residuary estate for its general purposes."

II. Retirement plan/Life insurance policy
